Who says senior living has to be boring? Quite the contrary! Some seniors love to travel, go shopping, or start a new hobby. Some like to garden, and others like dress to impress.
One Twitter user’s grandma is a wonderful example of this.
Fashion granny shows off in the garden
The Twitter user — @fishauz — posted photos of her grandmas showing off colorful outfits inside her garden. And, adorably, the outfits matched the flower blooms in the garden.
“My grandma matching with the flowers in her garden,” @fishauz wrote on Twitter.
One outfit @fishauz’s grandma wore was red and matched the red blooms behind her. Another outfit was pint and white and matched the pink and white flowers she was standing next to. An adorable blue outfit matched a bush full of blue blossoms, while a purple outfit coordinated with purple flowers in a different bush.
The photos go viral
The photos of “gardening granny” quickly went viral, and the post has been retweeted more than 46,000 times and has been liked more than 261,000 times.
The comments on the Twitter post showed the love for the “matching granny.” And then many people began sharing their own photos of their grandparents in the garden. Here’s a few of the responses.
“My cute grandmas is the same way!”
“Here’s my Nana with her proud satsuma tree!”
“She looks like one of those grandmas that are always giving you love and hugs … pure souls.”
“Grandma has an awesome fashion sense! Lovely! Give her a bug hug and let her know it’s from all her new Twitter fans the next time you see her!”
“Please hug your grandma a few million times.”
“Do all grandmas like taking photos in front of flowers? My grandma did that too.”
Some of the other photos shared in the Twitter post included grandparents standing in front of their favorite blooms and trees in their gardens. Some were dressed to the nines, while others were more casual.
Some were even dressed in traditional clothing that reflected their cultures. And others were standing in front of the most beautiful gardens imaginable.
@fishauz was so taken with the comments and response to her post that she took to Twitter again to thank everyone.
“I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone for all the love and even some ppl sharing pics of their own elders. I’m on vacation [right now] so I haven’t had the chance to go thru all the comments in person w/her but I know she’s gonna love all this attention LMAO. Will update y’all!”
